This Privacy Policy describes how the 'Custom URL New Tab' Chrome extension (the 'Extension') handles information. The Extension opens each new tab to an address you choose.
The Extension stores only the settings you enter in its toolbar popup:
The Extension does not require an account. It does not use analytics, advertising, or cookies, and it does not collect browsing history.
The stored settings are used only to open your chosen page in a new tab and to show the popup the way you set it. The developer does not receive those settings.
Settings are saved on your device with Chrome's built-in storage. If you leave "Sync settings with Chrome" on, and you are signed into Chrome with sync enabled, Chrome copies the URL, enabled state, address-bar setting, and light mode through Chrome Sync to other copies of this Extension on browsers signed into the same Google account. That transfer is handled by Google. The choice to use Chrome Sync stays on that device.
If you turn "Sync settings with Chrome" off, the settings remain on that browser only. The Extension does not send settings to a server operated by the developer.
If you enter a local file path, the Extension stores that path as your new-tab address. It does not upload the file. Chrome opens the file only after you allow the Extension to access file URLs.
The developer does not sell or share your settings. Chrome Sync, when you leave it on, is the only way those settings leave the device, and that sync is handled by Google.
Remove the Extension in chrome://extensions to delete the copy stored on that device. If Chrome Sync was on, you can also remove the synced copy from Chrome Sync on the devices where you are signed in.
The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new Last Updated date.
